- L-864 red/infrared beacons must flash in sync at 30 fpm.
- Infrared LED strings must be monitored, and an IR outage is a NOTAM-worthy event.

- E2 tower heights cannot exceed 500′
- Tower with heights of more than 500′ but less than 700′ are classified as F2 and are lit with 1 dual L-864/L-865 beacon, 4 L-864 medium intensity beacons, 6 L-856 high intensity beacons and 6 L-810 steady-burning marker lights (8 if square)
