FTW 175 and FTM 190 Tower Light Monitoring Units Move to LTE

Flash Technology announces its stand-alone monitoring products, FTW 175 and FTM 190, have been upgraded to operate at LTE speeds with the integration of a new modem. These new versions, designated FTW 175-3 and FTM 190-3, will run on either the Verizon or AT&T networks.

LTE is a proven technology and operates at faster speeds than 3G. It is more reliable than previous technologies, leading to fewer dropped connections and faster communication. Telecom carriers are migrating away from other technologies as they build out their LTE networks.

Flash Technology is pleased to announce that there will be no price increase for these higher performance products.

 

Background

Cellular carriers are upgrading their networks in the face of increased bandwidth demand from their customers. Network speeds have improved exponentially in a relatively short time span, and carriers continue to build out their LTE networks to develop ‘true 4G’ networks.

Updated firmware has been released to support the FTW 175-3 and FTM 190-3 products.

The firmware supports customer requests including:

• Site name and Site ID are preserved between firmware upgrades
• SNMP MIB file upgraded to provide correct description for gpsAntennaStatus in the FTS 371 diagnostics table (FTM 190-3)

 

Part Numbers

New part numbers have been created for the new FTW 175-3 and FTM 190-3 units to offer coverage from either Verizon or AT&T. These new products replace the older FTW 175-2 and FTM 190-2 versions, effective immediately.
