Redeploy Portable Barricade Lighting for Ongoing Airside Construction

The airfield lighting division has received an order from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to supply 300 units of its solar LED barricade lights. They will be installed as part of ongoing airport construction and maintenance upgrades currently underway.

JFK is located in the southeastern section of Queens County, New York City, on Jamaica Bay. It is only 15 miles by highway from midtown Manhattan. JFK consists of 4,930 acres, including nearly nine miles of runway and over 25 miles of taxiways. JFK carried more than 20,000,000 passengers in 2004 on over 195,000 flights.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has leased the internationally renowned JFK airport from the City of New York since June 1, 1947, and has invested more than $4.3 billion in the airport over the years.

Ideal for all types of general aviation and private airfield lighting applications, our solar obstruction lights are especially suited for barricade marking. Its virtually indestructible design is completely waterproof, vibration-proof and vandal-resistant. The A501 will provide automatic dusk-to-dawn operation without any maintenance for up to 5 years. This unit offers excellent value and extreme reliability and is approved for barricade lighting applications in commercial airports, as per the FAA Advisory Circular AC150/5370-2E.
