FLASH TECHNOLOGY TO PROVIDE LIGHTING
FOR JOHN DEERE WIND ENERGY

FRANKLIN, TN-June 18, 2009 - Flash Technology, an SPX Division, has committed to a multi-year agreement with John Deere Wind Energy to provide FAA lighting for wind turbines and MET towers, along with support services for John Deere’s wind farms.

Flash Technology’s FTB 360i, was developed in response to customer interviews, which identified several unmet marketplace needs for wind turbine lighting products. These interviews revealed a need for a tightly focused light beam, status indicators to convey real time operating information, and an efficient, compact design for easy installation and longer life.  The FTB 360i addresses each of these needs, and offers exceptional operating performance compared to similar products currently on the market.

Marketplace reaction to the FTB 360i has been excellent. “The FTB-360i is being embraced by clients to meet FAA regulatory compliance and manage liability risk at wind farms,” said Chris Carpenter, Business Development Manager for Flash Technology’s wind energy lighting products.  “In my five years at Flash Technology, our team has developed and released several innovative products – the FTB-360i is certainly one of the best aviation obstruction lights we have produced.”
